Why We Love It
Aspen is built for the kind of trip where everyone shows up, settles in, and stays awhile. This 7-bedroom, 4-bathroom home in Split Rock sleeps 22 guests across three floors plus a loft, with enough space and enough seating that no one is ever waiting for a chair, a bathroom, or a turn at the pool table.
Description
The Heart of the Home
The main living area is anchored by a dramatic floor-to-ceiling stacked stone fireplace that works double duty: one side faces the living room, where leather sofas and armchairs are arranged around a flat-screen TV mounted above the mantle, and the other side opens to the dining area. Vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams and hardwood floors run throughout, giving the space the warmth of a classic mountain cabin without feeling dated. The open layout means the kitchen is never separate from the gathering. Stainless steel appliances, custom cabinetry, and granite countertops make it functional for groups, and whoever is cooking is still part of the conversation.
A second seating area tucked into a corner of the main floor adds overflow space for the group, with its own fireplace and a large flat-screen TV. Every bedroom has its own TV as well, so the morning news crowd and the late-night crowd can both settle in on their own terms.
Outdoor Living
The back deck holds a gas BBQ fueled and ready for the group cook. Steps down, the covered hot tub sits tucked into the wooded backyard, private and quiet. The fire pit in the yard is where the night tends to end, with enough room around it for the whole crew.
Group-Friendly Game Room
Inside, a full-size pool table anchors the game room, offering a go-to when the group wants to stay in and compete. With two fireplaces, a covered hot tub, a fire pit, and a pool table all under one property, the evening pretty much plans itself.

A Perfect Day Around Lake Harmony
From Aspen, the Poconos open up in every direction. Here is how your local hosts would spend the day:
- Start at the water: Lake Harmony beach access is under half a mile on foot. Kayak and paddleboard rentals let the active members of the group get out on the lake while others settle in on the sand. For a rain day backup, H2Oooohh! Indoor Waterpark at Split Rock (1.6 mi) has a FlowRider surf simulator for the teens and a leisure pool that works for everyone else.
- Hit the slopes or the trails: Big Boulder Ski Area is 0.7 miles away, making it the easiest snow tubing option in the Poconos, no lessons required and accessible from age 5 on up. When the snow melts, Hickory Run State Park (11 mi) has the Boulder Field National Natural Landmark, a flat expanse of ancient rocks that is part hike, part geology lesson, and entirely worth the drive.
- Get on the river: Pocono Whitewater Rafting (14 mi) runs Family Style trips on Class I and II rapids on the Lehigh River, calm enough for kids and seniors and still a genuinely good time.
- Make a day of Jim Thorpe: The Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway (16 mi) runs vintage coaches through the state park along the river. Fully accessible, no hiking required, and one of the best views in the Poconos. Pair it with lunch in town and you have a full afternoon.
- Go big: Kalahari Indoor Waterpark (18 mi) has the scale to accommodate a group of 22, with a massive arcade and dining options that make it an all-day destination.
For dining out, the area around Split Rock has solid options for large groups. The Thirsty Moose (1.5 mi) is the high-energy pub pick, Louie's Prime Steakhouse (1.4 mi) is the choice for a celebration dinner, and Piggy's (0.5 mi) is the local breakfast spot worth the wait. For nights you stay in, see the PMR Dining Guide for take-out and catering options near the property: PMR Restaurants Page
